Once upon a time, there lived a poor but beautiful lady who worked at a small kopi tiam with her little sis. They earned their living by selling her famous teh tarik.

One day, an arrogant man patronized the kopi tiam. He just sat there for hours and refused to order anything, not even the lady's famous teh tarik.




She decided that this man must be a trouble-maker and caught him with the straw cage meant for the chickens.




In the end, it was a misunderstanding. The man was a rich tao-kay who ran a trishaw business. He had sat at the kopi tiam to wait for a friend. The tao-kay happened to enjoy being held captive and fell in love with the lady.
